Kimathi Mucee

The late Kimathi Mucee, the seventh child to Domenic Mucee Mberia, was born in Tharaka in 1982. He obtained his primary school education in Tharaka and Isiolo before joining Mangu High School for his secondary school education. After sitting his Form Four examinations at the School and passing very well, he was admitted to Moi University for a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated with the degree in 2006. After a short stint as an assistant editor with the Oxford University Press in Nairobi, he joined University of Wittswatersrand in 2008 for a Master of Arts in literature. He successfully completed the programme in 2009 and moved to the University of Johannesburg to start his Doctor of Philosophy studies. He was taken ill in April 2009 and, as fate would have it, passed on a day later at Johannesburg Hospital. His remains were brought back to Kenya and laid to rest in Tharaka.

Florence Nyakeri

Florence Nyakeri alisomea Kiswahili na Historia katika Chuo Kikuu cha Nairobi
alikotunzwa shahada ya B.Ed. Yeye ni mwalimu mwenye tajriba kubwa katika uandishi wa hadithi za watoto wa kiwango cha chini. Amefundisha Kiswahili katika shule za msingi mbalimbali mkoani Nairobi kwa muda mrefu. Hivi sasa, anafundisha lugha hiyo katika Shule ya Upili ya Lenana. Baadhi ya vitabu vingine vya Florence Nyakeri ni Paka na Panya, Siku za Juma, na Karani Ajuta, vyote ambavyo vimeidhinishwa na Taasisi ya Emimu ya Kenya kutumiwa katika mfumo wa elimu humu nchini.

Zakayo Iworete Amayi

Zakayo Iworete Amayi, was born on September 18, 1975 in Namorio village, Namorio Sub-location, Namorio Location, Mount Elgon District, in Kenya’s Western Province. He grew up in both Mount Elgon and the neighbouring Bungoma North districts. Mr. Amayi undertook his early studies at Kapsokwony D.E.B. Primary School in Mount Elgon District (1990) and Kimilili Boys’ High School in Bungoma North District (1994) before proceeding to the University of Nairobi where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Political science (2000) and Moi University where he was warded a Master of
Philosophy degree in English Literature (2006).

He has also undertaken various professional courses at the Kenya Institute in administration (KIA) in Nairobi. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in English Literature at Kenyatta University. Mr. Amayi is a career civil servant and works with the Office of the President, Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security as a District Officer and has performed his administrative duties in different parts of the country. He is married to Christine Nekono Kisaka-Iworete.

Pamela Ngugi

Pamela M.Y. Ngugi alisomea katika Chuo Kikuu cha Nairobi ambamo alijipatia Shahada ya Kwanza na ya Uzamili katika somo la Kiswahili na baadaye akahitimu Shahada ya Uzamifu katika Chuo Kikuu cha Vienna, Austria.
Kwa miaka mingi, Pamela amefundisha Kiswahili katika Idara ya Kiswahili na Lugha Nyingine za Kiafrika, Chuo Kikuu cha Kenyatta, Kenya Miongoni mwa kozi
anazofundisha katika Chuo Kikuu hicho ni zile zinazohusu fasihi ya watoto. Kufikia hivi sasa amechapisha vitabu vingi vya watoto na vilevile hadithi fupi.

Hivi sasa, anafundisha lugha hiyo katika Shule ya Upili ya Lenana. Baadhi ya vitabu vingine vya Florence Nyakeri ni Paka na Panya, Siku za Juma, na Karani Ajuta, vyote ambavyo vimeidhinishwa na Taasisi ya Emimu ya Kenya kutumiwa katika mfumo wa elimu humu nchini.

Enan Mwakoti

Enan Mwakoti alizaliwa mwaka wa 1975 katika eneo la Taita nchini Kenya. Alisomea katika Shule ya Msingi ya Choke na Shule ya Upili ya Voi. Baadaye, alijiunga na Chuo Kikuu cha Nairobi ambako alijipatia Shahada ya B.A. katika Kiswahili na Sayansi ya Siasa mwaka wa 1999. Mbali na uandishi wa hadithi za watoto, Mwakoti amewahi kuchangia makala mbalimbali kwa lugha ya Kiswahili katika magazeti na majarida nchini Kenya.

Dkt. Richard M. Wafula

Dkt. R.M.Wafula alizaliwa katika kijiji cha Khalumuli ambacho hivi sasa kimo katika Sehemu ya Uwakilishi Bungeni ya Webuye. Miaka michache baadaye, wazazi wake walihamia Mbakalo, Tarafa ya Tongaren. Alisomea katika Shule ya Msingi ya Mbakalo na Shule za Upili za Naitiri na Cardinal Otunga (Mosocho). Ana Shahada za B.Ed. (Nairobi), M.A. (Nairobi) na PhD (Indiana, Bloomington). Anafundisha katika Idara ya Kiswahili na Lugha Nyingine za Kiafrika, Chuo Kikuu cha Kenyatta, Nairobi, Kenya.
Dkt. Wafula ni msomi wa fasihi na hasa utanzu wa tamthilia. Ameandika Uhakiki wa Tamthilia: Historia na Maendeleo Yake (1999). Akishirikiana na Prof. Kimani Njogu, ameandika Nadharia za Uhakiki wa Fasihi (2007). Pia ametafsiri kwa Kiswahili mchezo wa Sofokile (Sophocles) uitwao Antogone na kuuchapisha kama Antigoni (2009).
